Terms and Conditions


By using the Service offered through this Website, you are bound by the terms and conditions as set out below. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, please STOP using this service now.


"Company" or "TC" or Trader Connects means Purchist Ltd, registered in England No. 11577227 at 160 Kemp House, City Road, London EC1V 2NX trading as Trader Connects. 

"Customers", “Individuals”, “buyers” means any person who submits and order or request for appointment on the Website for Trade Professionals to quote on.

"Users", means any customers using Trader connects.

Tradesman, Trader, Trader connect means any business/local trader who registers with Trader connects in order to quote for work from Customers.

"Website" means traderconnects.co.uk and all the pages, content and sub-domains contained therein.

“Services” , means any service agreed between a tradesman and a customer.


1. General

TC operates a marketplace for connecting customers to traders/buyers to sellers. We work in conjunction with local traders. We do not employ the traders and should not be construed to be employees of TC. All services provided by TC are provided through agreement with traders who hold their own liability insurance and conditions.

1.1. Services

Buyers search for their service and book their date and time online. The buyer is contacted  to confirm their service/appointment. The trader completes the service upon which payment is made. Services can only be provided in most of the UK however some locations are deemed unserviceable.

2. User accounts

A user account is required to keep track of your bookings. You may only register two accounts at a time to cover a business account and personal account.

We reserve the right to close any account and refuse any jobs in relation to an account that has repeatedly cancelled appointments or broken the terms of any of our policies.

3. Orders

3.1 When an order is placed, confirmation will be sent via text, email or phone. In any event and due to unforeseen circumstances, if any appointment time needs to be altered, we reserve the right to inform the buyer of this and change to a suitable time for the trader.

3.2 All Orders for Services made by you will be subject to these Terms and Conditions.

3.3 You may change your Order at any time up to 24 hours before start of service.

3.4 If your Order is changed We will inform you of any change to the Price in writing.

3.5 We may cancel your Order at any time before We begin providing the Services due to the unavailability of required personnel or materials, or due to the occurrence of an event outside of Our reasonable control.  If such cancellation is necessary, We will inform you as soon as is reasonably possible.

3.6 Agreement between buyer and Purchist

Your purchase through TC comes with a guarantee that our local traders are fully insured and have had their reviews checked in so far as this is capable. This guarantee is limited to the reviews that we have access to and no guarantee or liability can be accepted by TC on behalf of a trader who has knowingly withheld detrimental information and damage occurred as a result of this.

3.7. Protection for Buyers

TC acts as a marketplace for individuals or companies to easily find local traders who have a good record and are fully insured. As insurance is a strict requirement of working with us, any errors that do occur should be dealt with under this umbrella. We cannot be held responsible for a trader who knowingly submits false information regarding insurance. We equally can not be held responsible for any damage caused as a result from using a trader on our marketplace.

3.8 Quality

We have strict procedures for checking the quality of our traders work. Any issue with quality should be discussed with your tradesperson.

3.9 The agreement between buyer and trader

TC acts as a platform to connect buyers to traders or the service that they need. An agreement is made between buyer and seller upon confirmation by TC that the seller has accepted the booked job. The seller is to attend said job on the agreed date and at the agreed time to perform the work or quotation that was booked. Further communication and details regarding the job will be discussed between buyer and seller and decided on their own terms without interference from TC.

3.10. When the buyer has paid up front

Some traders must be paid in advance dependent on the industry. Customers can also choose to pay up front or online for ease. If this applies to you; confirmation will be sent and agreement deemed to be made on receipt of confirmation. TC will ensure that a trader is confirmed for your chosen date and time. Any redress for non attendance by a trader can be found in the refund policy.

4. Providing the Services

4.1 We will provide the you with a tradesman with reasonable skill and care, consistent with best practices and standards in the industry that you have chosen, and in accordance with any information provided by Us about the Services and about Us.

4.2 The tradesman will begin providing the Services on the date confirmed in Our Order Confirmation.

4.3 We will make every reasonable effort to complete the Services on time (and in accordance with your Order).  We cannot, however, be held responsible for any delays if an event outside of Our control occurs.

5. Payment terms and refunds

5.1 Payments from a customer can be received in one of two ways;

5.1.1 Payments will be agreed with your trader and payment made to your trader on completion of your services or as agreed between you and your trader.

5.1.2 Payments can also be made up front or online on traderconnects.co.uk. These payments are held by TC until services have commenced and are then released to the trader.

5.2 Payments are managed one of two ways;

5.2.1 Prices listed on our website and confirmed in your order confirmation will be the price paid unless further work is required or advised by your local trader. This would be discussed and accepted by you when making agreement with your local trader, which is outside the scope of this agreement.

5.2.2 All other prices/services which are not listed will be agreed with and decided by the local trader who attends to quote or complete your job.

5.3 Our Prices may change at any time but these changes will not affect Orders that We have already accepted.

5.4 Trader Fees

5.5 Traders agree by working with TC to pay TC a percentage fee for the work that they complete for a customer provided by TC. The fee is as agreed in the separate agreement between TC and the local trader/professional.

5.6 Job Refund policy

A refund will be due to a customer on behalf of TC only in the following limited circumstances

5.6.1 If for any reason a buyer places an appointment or order on traderconnects.co.uk and no confirmation is received or contact isn’t made, a full refund will be due to the customer if they decide to not proceed with the services.

6.1 Cancellation of a Job

Cancellations by the customer of appointments booked by TC will be accepted if submitted in writing up to 24hrs before commencement of the appoint.      

After commencement of a job, a customer or trader must communicate between themselves and with reference to the agreement that they may have made between one another.

7. Liability

1.1  We will not be responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Any liability agreement lies between you and your trader. We can provide checks in so far as is reasonably practicable although we are only the marketplace for connecting you with your local trader and must advise you to also use your judgement in deciding to go ahead with completion of your service.

1.2  We make no warranty or representation that our connected traders are anything but recommendations. They are not employees of TC and should not be construed as being employees of TC. We will not be liable to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, interruption to business or for any loss of business opportunity.

1.3  Our trader connects cannot be held responsible for any pre-existing faults or damage in or to your property that they may discover while providing the Services.

1.4  Nothing in these Terms and Conditions seeks to exclude or limit Your legal rights as a consumer.  For more details of Your legal rights, please refer to Your local Citizens Advice Bureau or Trading Standards Office.

1.5 Nothing in this Agreement shall constitute, or be deemed to constitute, a partnership between the TC and it’s trader connects.

1.2 Subject to any express provisions to the contrary in this Agreement, TC acts as an introducer and shall have no right or authority to and shall not do any act, enter into any contract, make any representation, give any warranty, incur any liability, assume any obligation, whether express or implied, of any kind on behalf of any and all local trader connects.


8. Disputes

8.1 Disputes regarding traders or customers must be dealt with between trader and customer as TC has no rights, obligations or dealings in any agreement once the details have been passed over to the trader.

9. Confidentiality between trader and trader connects.

9.1 All dealings, discussions and information regarding TC must be kept strictly confidential and any disclosure may result in recourse to legal action in the event that such disclosure has any financial effect or causes any damage to TC.
